Privacy & Data

Cozydo is a local-first app — your data lives on your device and you stay in control. Here is a plain-language summary of how we handle your information (mirrors the in-app Privacy screen).

Data we collect

No account
Cozydo has no sign-up or login — we never collect your email or name.
App content
Tasks, habits, projects, and mascot preferences you create stay entirely on your device and in your own iCloud account.
Crash diagnostics (opt-in)
If you enable "Crash diagnostics" in Settings, anonymised crash and error reports are sent to Sentry. This is off by default. No task, habit, or personal content is included.

How data is stored

Local SQLite database
All your data lives on-device in a SQLite file protected by iOS Data Protection. The database is not additionally encrypted at the app level; iOS protects it after the device is locked.
iCloud sync
When iCloud is available, sync files are written to the private area of your iCloud container (not visible in the Files app). We never have access to this data — it stays within your Apple ID.
iCloud encryption
Apple encrypts iCloud data in transit and at rest. Sync files are stored in the private container of your iCloud account.

Notifications

Local-only
All reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No notification content is routed through any server.
Private mode
Enable "Private notifications" in Settings to show generic reminder text ("Habit reminder") on your lock screen instead of the actual name.

Third-party services

Apple iCloud
Syncs your data within your personal iCloud account. apple.com/legal/privacy
Sentry (opt-in only)
Error and crash monitoring, enabled only if you turn on Crash diagnostics in Settings. sentry.io/privacy
Expo / EAS
Used to build and deliver the app binary. No personal data or push tokens are sent via Expo services. expo.dev/privacy
